✨ THE LAST 4 YEARS A culmination of acrylic & mixed media works of an art journey — a vibrant return to creativity, color, & theatre. By Jessica Winfield | 🌈 RAINBOW III EXHIBIT Acrylic Paintings Inspired by the Colors of Nature by Touran Mahdaviazar |
Dec 7, 2025 – Jan 15, 2026 My collection, The Last 4 Years, features artwork created from 2022 through 2025 — a true culmination of my artistic journey over the past four years. These pieces trace my return to creativity after stepping away from theatre and experiencing burnout in the IT world. Painting reignited the spark I had been missing and ultimately brought me back home to the stage — where I now design lights once again.
The collection explores landscapes, figures, mermaids, birds, flowers, and Afro‑Caribbean influences, all expressed through bright, electric color (even though my favorite color is black). Many works incorporate fluorescents, pearlescents, color‑shifting paints, and mixed‑media embellishments like gems and crystals.
It is especially meaningful to exhibit this body of work in the very theatre where I create and design on a regular basis. |
RAINBOW III EXHIBIT Acrylic Paintings Inspired by the Colors of Nature by Touran Mahdaviazar |
December 2, 2025 - January 15, 2026 Local artist Touran Mahdaviazar, an immigrant from Iran, presents a selection of her vibrant acrylic paintings in Rainbow III Exhibit.
As a child, Touran found comfort and joy in drawing and painting. Though she never received formal training, she is a natural talent whose work is deeply inspired by the beauty and wonder of colors in nature. Bright, joyful hues are at the heart of everything she creates.
Growing up, her notebooks and textbooks were covered in drawings. Now, in her retirement years, she has returned to her lifelong love of painting, producing numerous works that hang in the homes of friends and family. Her colorful depictions of nature and people bring peace and joy to viewers.
“When I start a new painting, I am in a different world where I cannot hear or see anything around me, and I do not realize the passing of time,” Touran says. She hopes her work inspires a new generation to pursue their own talent, inspiration, and passion. |

Navidad Flamenca takes you on a journey through festive holiday traditions from Spain and Puerto Rico. Conceived by Artistic Director Estela Vélez de Paredez, who grew up in Puerto Rico, the show blends the island’s unique celebrations with their Spanish parallels.
Enjoy an evening of mesmerizing Spanish holiday music and song (villancicos), thrilling flamenco dancing, and even a Puerto Rican parranda (a lively caroling party).
