Introducing AI Video: Create AI videos from a text prompt

Anyone who’s designed a promotional video knows the drill: you spend 20 minutes scrolling through stock clips and settle for something that’s almost right. You pick the least-bad option and move on. Then, unsurprisingly, your design ends up looking just like everyone else’s.

PosterMyWall’s new AI Video lets you avoid this hassle. Using the prompt-based tool, you can create custom, high-quality video clips in seconds. Here’s how it works, and why it’s worth adding to your toolkit.

Table of Contents

Why you will love AI Video

  • Save time: No more scrolling through hundreds of stock clips hoping one fits. Describe what you need, generate it, and incorporate it in your design.
  • Get exactly what you need: Stock libraries give you close enough. AI Video gives you precisely what you had in mind. Add a reference image, pick a camera angle, and write a detailed prompt.
  • Everything in one place: AI Video lives inside the PosterMyWall editor. There’s no need for exports, uploads, and switching between tools to use it.
  • Audio included: Finding a matching soundtrack adds yet another step to an already long process. With AI Video, you can generate audio alongside your clip in one go — or bring your own track if you prefer.

How does AI Video work?

Step 1: Open the AI Panel

Inside the PosterMyWall editor, click on the AI panel on the left-hand toolbar, then select AI Video.

Step 2: Describe your video

In the prompt box, enter a text description of what you want to create. Be as specific as possible (e.g., “A close-up shot of hot coffee pouring into a ceramic mug, steam rising, warm morning light”).

Step 3: Customize your settings

Note: Credit costs vary depending on the quality and audio settings you choose.

Before generating, you can fine-tune your video using the following options:

  • Camera angles: Select your preferred camera angles or movement styles to get the exact look you want.
  • Aspect Ratio: Choose between 9:16 (perfect for Stories and Reels) or 16:9 (ideal for landscape displays and YouTube).
  • Audio: Specify if you’d like the video to have audio or not.

You have the options to animate the reference images/posters and also use it to guide the AI’s visual style, composition, or subject matter.

Step 4: Preview and add to design

Hit generate. It takes a moment, but you don’t need to sit and wait. Keep working on your design while AI Video processes in the background. When it’s ready, preview the clip. If you’re happy with the result, add it to your design.

If you want to change something, tweak your prompt and generate again. You can also layer effects like shadows, glows, or edge overlays on top of the clip to add a bit more polish.

The video generated would be 8 seconds long. Before adding the video to your design, you can see a preview of the video. If you like the result, simply click to add it directly onto your canvas.

Additionally, try layering video effect overlays (like shadow, glow, edge effects, etc) on top of your AI video to give your design an extra oomph.

Prompts to try

The quality of your clip comes down to the quality of your prompt. A good starting point: name the subject, the action, the setting, and the lighting or mood — then generate a few variations and keep what works. You can also ask an AI assistant like Claude to help you brainstorm or refine prompt ideas before testing them out in the editor. Here are a few to get you started:

  • “Confetti falling in slow motion against a solid pastel background, bright and celebratory, studio lighting.”
  • “A cup of iced coffee being poured over ice cubes, condensation on the glass, bright airy kitchen setting.”
  • “A skincare bottle sitting on a wet stone surface with water droplets, soft diffused light, subtle steam in the background.”
  • “A hand reaching into frame to pick up a smartphone off a marble table, soft natural light, slow motion, minimal aesthetic.”

Use cases

Social media content

Need a video for a Reel or TikTok? Type your idea, choose 9:16, toggle audio on, and you’ll get ready-to-use social media content. AI Video tailors each clip to your exact message, whether that’s a product launch, an event promo, etc.

Product shots

No camera or studio? No problem! Add a reference image of your product and AI Video will turn it into a video clip in minutes. Use the AI Background Remover to get rid of unwanted backgrounds and your product video would be ready for ads, banners, or promotional flyers.

Digital signage

Static screens lose attention fast. Swap still images for a custom video digital signage on your retail display, restaurant menu, or lobby screen. Describe the mood, pick your aspect ratio, and generate something that actually fits the space.

A few things to note

  • All clips are 8 seconds long.
  • Two aspect ratios are supported: 9:16 and 16:9.
  • You can’t edit a clip after it’s generated. Adjust your prompt and regenerate if you want a different result.
  • To use your own music, turn AI audio off before generating (this also saves you 3 credits). Then layer your track onto the video once it’s on your canvas.
  • You own full commercial rights to every clip you generate.
  • AI Video is a Premium feature and uses credits. Costs vary by resolution and audio settings.

Create custom videos

Video is now the default language of digital marketing. Making videos has always meant expensive gear, hours of editing, or settling for stock footage that doesn’t quite work.

AI Video changes that. Type a prompt, tweak the settings, and get a high-quality clip without leaving your editor. Whether the video is for a social post, a product ad, or a screen in your store, you no longer need a production budget to get it right.

FAQs

Q. If I use a reference image, will the AI just animate that exact picture?

You can ask it to animate your image directly. Alternatively, you can use the image as a visual guide: the AI will take cues from the style, colors, and composition and build something new around your prompt.

Q. Can I use my own music instead of AI-generated audio?

Yes. Turn the AI audio setting off before generating (it saves you 3 credits). Once the clip is on your canvas, upload your own track or pick one from the PosterMyWall library.

Q. What happens if my video fails to generate?

If there’s a technical error, your credits won’t be deducted. Otherwise, they’ll be reversed automatically.

Q. Do I own the rights to what I generate?

Yes. Every clip is yours to use in personal and commercial projects. Just don’t prompt for copyrighted characters, brand logos, or trademarked material.

Q. How long does generation take?

It varies, but you don’t have to wait. Keep working on your design while it runs in the background.
