How to use the draw tool with PosterMyWall

Whether you’re looking to add a personal touch to a flyer or sketch out a rough layout for your next big project, the right tools make all the difference. We are thrilled to introduce the Draw tool; a versatile addition to the PosterMyWall editor designed to give your creativity free rein.

From whimsical doodles to professional accents, here is everything you need to know to start sketching like a pro.

Getting Started: Where to Find the Draw Tool

Ready to start? Open any design in the PosterMyWall editor. On the left-side contextual menu, you’ll see the new ‘Draw’ option. Clicking this will instantly transform your workspace, opening a suite of drawing options in the right-hand menu.

Choose Your Brush

Every masterpiece starts with the right stroke. We’ve included three distinct brushes to suit your style:

  • Pencil: Perfect for fine lines, handwriting, and detailed sketching.
  • Circle: Great for creating bold, geometric patterns or bubbly accents.
  • Spray: Adds a textured, street-art vibe to your promotional materials.

Pro Tip: If you’re on a laptop, simply click and drag your mouse or touchpad. If you’re designing on the go, use your phone’s touchscreen for a more natural drawing experience!

Customize Your Canvas

Standard colors not cutting it? No problem. The draw tool is fully integrated with our styling features:

  1. Size Matters: Adjust the line thickness to go from delicate whispers to bold statements.
  2. Color Control: Use the color panel to find the perfect hue, or use the Color Picker to match elements already in your design.
  3. Brand Consistency: Yes, you can even use your saved Brand Colors to ensure your doodles stay on-brand.
  4. No-Stress Editing: Made a mistake? Use the Eraser tool to quickly tidy up your work.

Finishing Touches

The draw tool is a fantastic way to “spruce up” restaurant menus, event invites, or social media ads. Once you’ve added that perfect flourish, click the ‘Finish drawing’ button.

Important Note: Before you click “Finish,” make sure you’re happy with your work! Once finalized, individual strokes cannot be edited.

However, don’t worry about placement—once finished, your drawing becomes a single element that you can:

  • Move and Resize anywhere on the canvas.
  • Delete if you decide to start fresh.
  • Re-color or add Filter Effects to blend it perfectly with your background.

Create with the draw tool today

The draw tool isn’t just about doodling; it’s about adding a layer of authenticity that stock graphics simply can’t match. Head over to the PosterMyWall editor and see what you can create!
